My Weekend OOTD and Cake Obvs

Hi hi hi!

How are you all? How was your weekend?

Thought I’d do a little ‘weekend in pictures’ today. So, let’s start with Saturday:

Yes, it’s a selfie ha! Anyway, I put a little dry shampoo in my hair that day and it really gave it a little umph. At the minute I’m using a fab one from Matrix but unfortunately, I can’t seem to see it anymore on their website! I’ll have to be careful with this last bottle then 😦

Anyhoo, the rest of the day wasn’t spent posing but was spent at Iain’s parent’s house as it was his Dad’s birthday. Thankfully, he liked his gift! 🙂

So, moving onto Sunday. My incredible best friends came to see me on Sunday. We didn’t have much planned but in preparation for going out, I wanted to do a full face of makeup so here is what I put on this little old face of mine:

Everything here can be bought at Debenhams, Boots, SuperdrugHolland and Barratt, Lush or Topshop.

So in my little collection here I’ve got moisturiser, primer, foundation, concealer, blusher (the little pot), eyeliner, mascara, eyebrow brush, powder brush and powder!

I wanted to keep quite a natural finish to my face today and kept a simple flick on my eyelids with just a hint of blusher and a nude lip.

I chose to keep a natural finish because of my outfit which was this!:

It sort of looks like I’m floating here but anyway, here is my outfit. I chose to wear my new ripped knee leggings from Matalan with my new Matalan jumper.

I topped this off with my Chelsea boots from Dr Martens (which I’m not sure are still available) and I just thought it gave a very relaxed look but with a bit of an edge.

Of course, I wore that to go out and eat a mahoosive slice of cookie cheesecake (I can’t remember the actual name of it!). Oh my goodness, it was so good. In fact, I’m ashamed at how much I ate of it. But it was so good.

It was from a pub near to where I live that does cakeaways and their cakes just make me so happy. If you look closely you can see me in the spoon :/

So that’s what I got up to! How about you? How was your weekend?

Going For A Cheeky Afternoon Tea

 Good Afternooooon,

How are we all on this fabulous Friday?

I wanted to do a little post today about what I spent Tuesday afternoon doing!

So I spent the day with Iain’s Mum and we decided to visit this lovely little tearoom called Dingle Farm which is near to where she lives.

I’ve been a few times and it’s just next to a farm (hence Dingle farm, I know!). It has a little shop opposite the tearoom and you can buy products which are organic and just a little bit more unique. As you enter the tearoom, you pass through a room dedicated to handmade items and books. It’s really lovely and it’s nice that the majority of the items are homemade.

Upstairs they have a beauty room and often have an artist on site who produces pet portraits!

After passing through the little shop, you have the choice of three rooms to enjoy your treats in. We chose to go upstairs because there’s a nice little view from the upstairs window- it overlooks a pond and a forest!

Sadly, we were too late to get the table which we really wanted so we settled for one still close to the window.

Once settled, we decided to be naughty and have a hot drink and a slice of homemade cake each which would only cost us £4.

The cakes are beautifully written on a chalkboard for all to see and within each room, little decorations hang which are available to purchase. Their crockery is all mismatched too and it gives it a lovely, homely feeling!

Carefully choosing off the board, I opted for a hot chocolate this time. It came with two marshmallows and this gorgeous, little chocolate design on top! They also brought me a little jug of warm milk too so I could top up!

Now cake wise…I simply had to have their Toffee Apple blondie. It was devine. It was so yummy. I had to actually try and slow myself down so I wouldn’t eat it within thirty seconds.

It was nice and gooey and it had a bit of a brownie texture but it was stickier. The white chocolate on top was just enough too.

I wasn’t alone in enjoying my cake either as Gill had ordered her favourite- Chocolate Guiness cake!

I actually thought the top was frosting or butter cream but it is indeed cream. Unfortunately, she couldn’t eat all of it and kindly saved the rest for Iain. She still enjoyed it with a pot of tea, though!

It is such a lovely place to go to and I feel that it’s a little gem really! If you’re ever in the area I would recommend going or perhaps even taking a road trip to it!

Can anyone else recommend any lovely tearooms?

The Boyfriend’s Mum’s Birthday Meal!

Good Morning!

It’s Saturday 😀

Two days ago it was my boyfriend’s Mum’s birthday and whilst the men were at work, his mum and sister invited me out for lunch.

We went to Le Bistrot Pierre which is a lovely french restaurant in a village near to us called Stockton Heath. They are a chain of restaurants and I’d heard it was good but had never eaten there before so was quite intrigued!

There was a great deal on the menu too which offered two courses for £10.95 and so we opted for that, sticking with water for drinks (I know, crazy right?!).

After scrolling down the menu and vetoing steak (I really wanted it but need to watch how much red meat I eat with my one little kidney now), I chose the Porc rôti which was a hefty piece of pork, with a lemon, rosemary and parmesan crust. It was accompanied by herb aïoli which is like a garlic and herb mayonnaise and it also came with a jus for the meat. I decided to have chips with it too which were lovely, crisp and thin.

Iain’s (the boyfriend) Mum and Sister went for the Steak-Frites which looked really good!

After filling our bellies with main we decided that a meal out wasn’t a meal out without dessert and took our time carefully choosing.

Eventually, we had decided. Iain’s Mum chose to have the Poêlée de poires et pommes which is an almond crumble filled with apples, pears and berries. It’s also topped off with ginger icecream. I know, right.

Iain’s Sister decided to have Pain perdu brioché which is bread and butter pudding with french bread and it’s served with a berry compôte and vanilla ice cream.

But what did I have? Well, I went all out. I went for the most chocolatey dessert anyone could wish for- Délice au chocolat. It was a chocolate torte with Chantilly cream and a hot chocolate sauce. Needless to say, it was devine.

We spent the rest of the day having a nice chilled evening at Iain’s parents’ house where we ate even more :/

Overall though, it was a fab day!

Has anyone else dined at Le Bistrot Pierre?? What did you have?
